I feel like I have known these little boys for over 3 years…and yes, they are only 3 months old. Their mommy and daddy have loved them from the day they decided they’d like to have children, and through long, tedious, rollercoaster wait, these little guys finally made their appearance. J and L’s mom told me several years ago that in the middle of the heartwrenching process, she was at the store and found the cutest little leather chair – perfect for her someday children. The heavy chair was stuffed into the trunk of the car, taken home to be stuffed in a closet, becoming the object that helped keep hope but also represented all the frustrations in trying to become a parent.
Of course, when the little guys came in for their first official newborn session, the chair came along. It wasn’t until after I posted the images from the session that mommy realized that there was still dust on the arms of the chair…and what a long road with a sweet ending that dust represents.
Just a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to photograph the boys in their chair for the second time – now as healthy, happy, smiling 3 month olds. No dust anymore, just grins, and immense joy that comes from loving two of the sweetest little boys.
